I am always a student of Art, Writing and Photography and use all in creating art that moves me and unique pieces for my clients. My main medium is acrylics but I use a little of everything in producing my pieces.
I personally have been drawing, painting, taking pictures and writing since I was a small child. My medium of choice has had many aspects over the years. I started importing my works into Corel Draw 25 years ago in order to add layers of different works, touches of photography into my paintings and as a writer I prefer to do pieces that are filled with meaning… sometimes with prose and sometimes with many different images and meanings in one. I create in pencil first, then watercolor or import into photoshop to colorize, then once imported I add more dimensions, layers and even poetry in Photoshop, and then print to canvas and paint on the canvas!
It is an intricate process but I get what I want. Some of my paintings are strictly acrylic but to get the perfect idea I often create pieces of my works in drawings, colorize them so I know the size and how I want them to look then I use that smaller piece as a guide to add that piece into my paintings. I also create on wood, fabric, metal and stone. I sometimes add items to my paintings that I find just lying around, usually from nature but sometimes old discarded objects made new in my works.
My works are in different media but usually scanned into Photoshop at some point for melding works together to create something new. Sometimes even I am surprised! I love to incorporate prose where applicable.
Though I did private work by commissions I did not start displaying my works until I lived in San Diego in the Del Mar Area. While living there I started showing in the Ocean Song Gallery and sold my work out right to different businesses in Solana Beach and La Jolla, which then resold them to clients. I did commissioned pieces for clients who found me through interior designers. I was very active in ballroom dancing while living in California, hence a joy in painting dancers, also a love of the ocean and of horses. My works are from reality and transform the viewer to an altered state of reality with a mix of social commentary. Surrealism seems like such a small name for such works!
Love of family brought me back to my native Las Vegas area, I live in Henderson, NV at present. Since returning to Vegas I have developed and created many lovely pieces from traveling about and being inspired. Art and writing are a integral part of who I am
Agora Gallery in New York has shown interest in my work and has a place for me when I am ready. Sending my works to New York seems a daunting task to me so for now I will concentrate on the West Coast Galleries.
I am attaching some different pieces so you can see my versatility.
Sincerely, Bonnie Marie (Brunson)

Many of my photographs stir me to create something different from them. I love working with Photoshop because after I scan in my work I can add effects and combine different pieces and write in a poem or phrases I have created. Then the piece really becomes a reflection of my minds eye. Then when printed I can add more paint, and items that move me from nature or the mechanized world we live in.
I believe artists are born not created in a classroom, though I have learned Photoshop in classrooms and teach it to budding artists to expand the scope of their works. I have been drawing, painting and writing all my life and am really my best self when doing so. I have created most my works on canvas but use other backgrounds for my art. I have done some sculpture also.
I left California after an accident that took away my mobility for a time and moved back to Vegas to be near family. Recently I have been showing my work at City of Henderson art gallery. I am in process of traveling to Southern California to get my work back in the Galleries there.
