Bonnie is constant student of Art, Writing and Photography. All creativity moves her and her work to create unique pieces for her clients. Bonnie’s main medium is acrylics but she uses a little of everything in producing her work.
“I am motivated to do many different styles at different times. Often my work begins with a sketch and leads me on to what it should be, As I am a poet and writer also, often what I am writing will inspire a painting. Many of my photographs stir me to create something different from them. I love working with Photoshop because after I scan in my work I can add effects and combine different pieces and write in a poem or phrases I have created. Then the piece really becomes a reflection of my minds eye. Then when printed I can add more paint, and items that move me from nature or the mechanized world we live in. I believe artists are born not created in a classroom, though I have learned Photoshop in classrooms and teach it to budding artists to expand the scope of their works. I have been drawing, painting and writing all my life and am really my best self when doing so. I have created most my works on canvas but use other backgrounds for my art. I have done some sculpture also.”
Bonnie has been drawing, painting, taking pictures and writing since she was a small child. Her medium of choice has transformed over the years. She started importing her works into Corel Draw 25 years ago in order to add layers of different works, touches of photography into her paintings and as a writer she prefer to do pieces that are filled with meaning… sometimes with prose and sometimes with many different images and meanings in one.
